The Mull and West Highland Railway, on the Inner Hebrides, is a must see and a must do.
The track is a little over a mile long. The narrow gaurge railway was built specifically to link the Duart Castle with the island at the pier.
The ride will take you through woodlands, peeks at gorgeous herds of red deer, and past the coastline. As a matter of fact, the railway even crosses over a bog. How many people can say they’ve traversed a peat bog?! (Nice to have a small flask of peaty Scotch with you if it’s chilly outside.)
There are six cars on the narrow gaurge rails, and the prettiest of all is the first, The Lady of the Isles. This is an experience in Scotland that can’t be missed.
